Orderly Predict is a 5-minute BTC Up/Down market. For Builders, it is not a separate trading stack: it reuses Orderly’s existing order, position, and WebSocket APIs, with a small set of additive fields and validation rules layered on top. This page gives you the integration model; the rest of this group covers the details.
Orderly Predict is available on both mainnet and testnet.

One permanent symbol per round

Every round gets its own symbol, created once and never reused. A symbol is the single business key that ties together orders, trades, positions, settlement, and market data for that round.
  • Always read the current symbol from the Predict info endpoints (GET /v1/public/binary/info; see Market Data) — never construct or guess a round symbol yourself. The list returns multiple ACTIVE rounds at once, newest first; the one currently in its observation window (and so the one usually shown as “the current round”) is the ACTIVE row where observation_start_at <= server time < expire_at.
  • A symbol is permanent: once a round is created, its symbol never changes and is never recycled for a different round.
  • Every request that touches a round (orders, order book, trades, positions) carries this symbol; there is no separate round ID.

One order book, two sides

Orderly Predict trades UP and DOWN, but there is only one order book per round, quoted in UP terms: Because DOWN is the mirror image of UP (DOWN price = $1 minus the UP price), there is no separate DOWN order book in the matching engine. A DOWN order book view does exist in market data responses, but it is derived from the UP book, not a second book you can place orders against directly. See Market Data and Order Management for how the derivation and the client-side conversion work.

What’s new versus what’s reused

Apart from the read-only Predict info, index price history, and restricted areas endpoints, there is no separate Predict API. If you already integrate Orderly’s order and position APIs, most of the work is adding the Predict-specific validation rules and reading a couple of new fields.

Enabling Orderly Predict for your users

Whether your frontend shows Orderly Predict to traders is entirely up to you. The product toggle is a Builder frontend display setting — it is off by default, and there is no platform API for it. See Orderly Predict Overview for what your traders will see once you do. If you enable Orderly Predict, you must also do the following:
  • Block restricted regions yourself — see Region restriction below. Orderly’s backend does not enforce this restriction.
  • Disclose Orderly Predict’s Supplemental Terms to your users and link to them from your frontend.

Region restriction

Orderly Predict is blocked in some regions, and your frontend is responsible for enforcing that block — Orderly’s backend does not reject orders based on a user’s region.
  1. Call GET /v1/ip_info to get the user’s region (country name) and city.
  2. Call GET /v1/product_restricted_areas?product_type=BINARY to get the restricted list. The response has two groups, countries.rows[] and cities.rows[], each row carrying name and visibility; cities.rows[] entries also carry country_name.
  3. Match by name, not by code: match the user’s country against countries.rows[].name, and match the user’s city against cities.rows[].name together with country_name (so you don’t mismatch two different countries’ same-named cities).
  4. If both a country and a city match, the city’s visibility takes priority over the country’s.
Both visible and hidden matches fully block trading — the only difference is whether you show the entry point: A restricted user can still view price charts, the order book, and other market data — only order actions are disabled. Region restriction does not affect deposits: Orderly Predict has no deposit of its own, funds are shared with PERP/CROSS, and your region check must not block a user’s existing PERP/CROSS deposit flow.
